Opera Insights Series - Mark Wigglesworth

Written by Josephine Walbank

On Monday (May 11), we saw the third instalment of our Opera Insights Series. This time, we got to speak to the sensational, award-winning conductor Mark Wigglesworth, under the heading of 'Conducting for the stage'.

Thanks again to Zoom (it's been a lockdown life-saver for all of us!), over 71 of us were able to speak to Mark. We were thrilled with such a fantastic turnout, and we had opera fans joining the call from all across the world. Our chat with Mark was certainly an illuminating one, leaving us with a valuable, fresh take on the arts world, from the perspective of this internationally renowned conductor.

We have been absolutely delighted with the responsiveness and kindness of artists and performers, who have been willing to give up their evenings to share their industry insights with us. Thanks to them, we have been able to fill our diaries with a fantastic number of events.

If you'd like to be a part of our next discussion (for Part 4 we will be speaking to James Clutton, the company director of Opera Holland Park) keep an eye on our social media channels, where we'll be flagging up all of the upcoming events. Then, all you need to do is send an email our way to secure your spot in the Zoom call.
