Opera Insights Series - Amanda Majeski

Written by Josephine Walbank

For the second instalment of our Opera Insights series, we spoke to the sensational, internationally renowned lyric soprano Amanda Majeski.

In the discussion 'On stamina', which took place on May 5, we spoke to Amanda about the stamina of the voice and how it can be impacted by both mental and physical health. She also shared with us her story about how she became a singer and how she got her first 'big break'.

We were delighted to have 51 of you lovely lot in attendance via Zoom (no way would we have been able to organise that successfully pre-lockdown!) to ask Amanda about her experiences as a performer.

@majeskiamanda - Artists are givers and sharers! It is our duty to pass on what we have learned! Thanks to @NSOSuk for this beautiful opportunity!

Thanks to the awesome dedication and generosity of so many fantastic artists, we've got loads on to keep you entertained in to the next stretch of lockdown. Keep an eye on our social media channels to stay up to date with our exciting, jam-packed events list.

Next up in our Opera Insights series, on 11 May (that's a Monday if, like us, you're getting the days a bit mixed up at the mo), we'll be chatting to conductor Mark Wigglesworth. We can't wait to see you then!
